Deck repair

A leaning post or soft board does not always mean starting over.

Before you tear it out, it is worth having it looked at. We repair decks we built and decks we did not, and we will tell you plainly whether repair makes sense or a rebuild does.

What we repair

Structure, surface, and railings.

  1. Structural repair

Reframing, ledger and footing repair, and fixing rot or insect damage found in framing, rim joists, or sheathing.

  2. Board & surface replacement

Replacing worn or damaged deck boards and stair treads, matching the existing structure where possible.

  3. Railing & post repair

Leaning posts, loose or failing railings, and gate hardware — the details that make a deck feel solid again.

What to expect

Three steps, no guessing.

We assess it honestly

We look at what is actually wrong before recommending anything — including telling you plainly if a rebuild makes more sense than a repair.

A written estimate

Scope and price in writing before anything starts — no verbal promises to remember later.

Fixed once, fixed right

The same standard as a new build, on the last board as the first.

Questions

Deck repair, honestly answered.

Will you repair a deck someone else built?

Yes. We'll assess it on site the same way we would our own work, and give you an honest read on what it needs.

What if you find more damage once you start?

Demolition regularly exposes conditions that were not visible during the estimate — things like hidden rot, undersized footings, or water damage behind a ledger. If that happens, we stop, show you what we found, and present a written Change Order for the additional work before proceeding. We won't conceal known rot or structural defects.

How do I know if I need a repair or a full rebuild?

It depends on how much of the structure is affected and how old the rest of the deck is. We'll give you a straight recommendation on site rather than pushing a bigger job than the deck actually needs.

Is repair work covered by your warranty?

Yes — the same one-year workmanship warranty applies to repair work as to new builds. Manufactured materials carry their own manufacturer's warranty, which we pass through to you.
